Vel Satis in James Baggott’s 5 Cool French Cars

We’re delighted to see that the Renault Vel Satis has made it into James Baggott’s article and list of his 5 cool French cars.

James says “The Vel Satis was an undeniable sales flop – even Renault’s top brass admit it – but that, in our eyes, makes it even more desirable. At launch its price put a lot of people off, but we think the unique design, spacious interior and silky diesel engine make it a worthwhile purchase. And the fact you can pick them up for just £2k now makes them even more attractive.”

For those of you not yet following James on Twitter, we would highly recommend that you do so, via @CarDealerEd, and James is editor of Car Dealer Magazine and also contributes to AOL’s Autoblog, which is where his Top 5 Cool French Cars appears.

We’re kind of surprised the Renault Avantime didn’t make the list instead, as quite a few in the industry tend to slightly prefer it to the Vel Satis – but of course, we’re glad it was the Vel Satis which made the list. Give us a warm glow inside!
