Can I refer you to the thread 'Expansion tank coolant' on this forum (sorry don't know how to link it).

I had my tank replaced by my local dealer only last November and the part number from Renault on the invoice was 8200459275. They had no issue getting one next day – I believe the coolant tank of both the 3.5 and the 3.0 DCi are the same part. Total cost for the tank was about £60.

There is no clearance between the tank and the air filter assembly and they rub together causing a crack. I now have a thick piece of rubber wedged between the two to try and stop it happening again.

Good luck

Hi Guys,

I had the same issue on my 2002 2.0T, however, I may be wrong, but I believed the expansion tank was covered under a recall at some stage in the UK, although Renault denied it here in Ireland.

Regards

Brian
