You hear creaking because there is a flat on the nylon ring.

You have just to change the nylon wheel in order to fix the craking

Diamètre externe 13mm
Diamètre interne 5.3 mm
Hauteur 14mm

Ah Ah !    I noticed that when I turned the nylon wheel to a new position, the noised stopped.

After a few times shutting the door, it must have returned to the flat section.

Did you get one made up on a lathe?

that bad sound of front doors is made by the plastic pieces inside of the doors – new one costs about 40€ +/- in CZE – it is possible to put it out and repair a bit – im not sure how should i put the link here so you can see it  bellow (if it will work)

http://forum.renaultclub.cz/vi…..38;t=76670

For an aerial – changement is a bit difficult – you need to put down the ceiling from the inside – means to put down the inner part of C pillars and those things for holding by hands above rear doors  (not so easy and if you want to change the aerial only because of the GPS sign – dont do that – you will get mad :D )

a bit of my story:
i bought my VS when i was 19 as a used car a bit more then 200 000km. I saw that car on the photo and i said – no its ugly – when i visited the showroom and i sat inside, i told to seller that i deffinatly need this car. So i bought 2,2dci 2002 200 tkm EXPRESSION car. Later i wanted to chage a lot of interior parts. ive changed the mirror (now i have monochromatic inside, aluminum lists (now i have the "initiale wood" around the car) on doors and the desk, steering wheel (now i have the wood even on the steering wheel), i built in the GPS (i bought the car without GPS), and few small things. Now i have bought the white leather seats so i would like to change during one month.

i bought ARIA 18" alloy wheels, then i changed for other ARIA wheels then i sold ARIA wheels and bought PLEIADES (facelift 18"alloy) as me summer wheels and for the winter i have 17" alloy SILVERSTONE (standard for Laguna II)

my VS:

and here few months old:

there is much more repairs and "tuning" which i have done but now, the main point in to do list is to put in the leather :)

later i will change a lot of parts on the front axle (ball joints? and the rests) the same on the rear side, during next 10 000kms i should change turbo and EGR … :)

EDIT: the link for the first picture is still short  - text replaced by dots :( dont know how to fix :(

That is a nice story S3.   Are you in agreement with 800dr about the nylon wheel?  I am wondering if there are multiple causes of the noise, or if they are one and the same.

Please keep us updated with your Vel Satis journey.

Arnaud:    Are you saying you replaced the nylon wheel with a brass one?

Yes Lexi both I replace an Nylon wheel by brass one and an other by nylon home made by column drilling machine.

ooops, sorry i didnt refresh the site when i was writing my post. I agree with 800dr – this is the problem of that sound from doors.

Lexi: you do not know everything :D this was a preview of visual "reparis and tuning" only :D

when i was driving to Italy for my first vacation – i had a lot of troubles (first after 7-8 months with my VS) during cca 200-300kms of driving, the water temperature was too high – but 4 personst in car (including me) were driving to theri vacation – so we agreed that we will continue the trip. 1600kms was the total lenght. I was driving for 28 hours without sleeping break – i had to stop +/- each 15-20km – i checked the water level and i was opening the "screw" on the cooler – to take the air outside from the coolant. when we passed the trip, i found the service- they repaired (bad contact on "sahara" – ventilator on the cooler – dont know the expression) so two days after – front right window just fell down and it wasnt possible to put the window up. so again to the service.

When i was driving home, the coolant was OK, but again nearby Vienna (AT) the temerature was high. There was pretty sure that there is a problem with the head gasket. So we finished last 200-300km as the same state as the trip to vacation.

two years ago – my exMechanician who did the changement of the head (first i changed only the gasket, later i had to change all the head) made a small mistake during setting of timing belt – i was 1700kms far away inside of France when the axle where are installed openning elements for intake and exhaust valves broke. i did really a lot of repairs on my VS.

Here are some photos when i bought the car – you can compare:

I will post some new photos when i will install the leather :)

Anyway yesterday ive already passed 329000km (cca 204500miles) so its already Old Satis (not Vel Satis) :D

i will recieve a company's car on 5th of may so milage will not increase so quick, but still thinking what to do with my VS …

it will not be possible to sell with this milage and it is pitty to let it parked on the street only :(

It does seem that the later 3 litre diesels were much improved.

Izuzu got it wrong with that first incarnation of the engine. Was it problematic in other cars, like Vauxhall or Saab?

Poor Japanese design……….who would have thought?   Nissan did it with their first DI too.  Cost them lots of money.

I have 2,2dci 110kw 2002yr. but you are right – the first construction of 3,0dci was made wrong. The second P9X 715 – with 133kw (not possible to tell generally that it is for facelift models because few of first facelift models has still the old one P9X 701 with 130kw – this is a risky engine – the same in SAAB and Vauxhall/ Opel) is much better

anyway there was a change of the engine construction not the supporting elements like pump, turbo, etc. so still new 3,0dci 133kw in VS and Espace has old known problems with starting and with the black smoke – because of valves on diesel pump – you can solve as i wrote in different threads.

If i remember correctly- there wasnt any real test of the engine before they used it in the car – i think that they made only computer simulations. but not sure

Ah!  You have 2.2 like Rosic on here.

They have head as well as turbo problems then?  OR  maybe just some have head problems?
