My VS came with only one key, and I've always been a little worried about how I would fare if I dropped it down a drain or something.  So I decided to take the plunge and buy a spare key. I got it programmed today. Total cost £187.70 inc. VAT.

Gone are the days when you just went into a key cutting place and got a spare cut for a fiver!  But the cost of the VS key isn't as bad as some I've heard of, costing several hundred pounds.

The Arnold Clark main dealer, who fitted all those parts a month or so ago, are, I must say, very pleasant to deal with, and they valeted the car while it was in for the programming this morning.

Meant to say, when I got in the car, the seat had been adjusted forward, and it started to reposition itself, not back to my preset, but further forward and upwards. For a daft moment as my head approached the roof and the back folded in, both sections, I found myself thinking, Heavens, this seat is gonna get me! Like some mad scene from Doctor Who, it will fold me up and snap me in two!

Happily, it stopped in time!

Arnold Clark say that I am entitled to a free "Health Check" at  any time, during which they will check and top up all fluids (except deisel of course, hehe) for free.

Is the health check for you (after the man eating chair scenario) or the car? WinkLaugh

I had the same problem on the seat memory – heading towards the steering wheel at speed hoping the impact would not set the airbag off! Like you, the seat stopped Embarassed I was a tad relieved….Surprised

Haha, isn't it funny in here how every single oddity we might encounter, has been experienced by someone else!  It's such a useful aspect of the Forum.

I THINK the health check was for the car, not for me, tho' certainly if the seat had carried on, I'd have needed it.  But as far as I know, I don't THINK my fluids need topping up……
