Good news it failed on rear discs & pads which I wanted so covered by warranty. Bad news they say front discs & pads need replacing too which takes it beyond limit of warranty but thankfully I have money on one side for this.

Not a bad result, then. I think any MoT fail that is due to stuff which routinely wears out (such as pads, discs etc) is what you'd expect. It also shows that the MoT test works for the most part.

I wish my Vel Satis was as robust as your amazing Lexus LS, Brad!

The small Renault dealer who did my MOT a few days ago told me they can't do the car's service for a week or more, as they can't get hold of an oil filter "anywhere" – which is a bit odd as I know someone else with a 3.0 Vel Satis too and he's just had his serviced no problem, using what the dealer told him were official Renault parts.

My Vel had his MOT today – outcome – pass with no advisory note (even if my rear suspension is still noisy).

I also finally swap winter tires for summer ones :)

Congratulations for your Vel Satis passing its MOT, Rosic. That's great.

My Vel Satis had its MOT retest and service yesterday and in the end the warranty firm (Car Care plan) paid for all the discs, but not the pads as they are considered wear & tear. So with the rest to pay for and the service it cost me £490. As the dealer (Kineholme of Otley, Yorkshire) had received a back order of oil filters they were able to complete the service too. Another year to go then before another MOT! With the low mileage I do, I dread to calculate the running cost per mile! Are you coming on June the 11th? It's a shame I missed you when I called it to your work that day, so hopefully we can finally meet next month and I can practice my Polish with you too!

I really wish to come, but it all depends what shift I will be working. Hopefully I manage to get there! I really wish to! :)

From last MOT, and the day I bought the Vel I didn't do so many miles like I do year before in Safrane. I manage to run Vel Satis through 18660 miles on English, European and Polish road. Car used 2.266 liters of diesel which cost me 2622 pounds. Servicing cost for that period is 1321 pounds, and that works out 12.98 pounds for every 60 miles (fuel + servicing costs) :D

I really hope you can make June 11. Hopefully you will find out about your work shifts soon, or maybe you can swap your swift on June 11 with someone else.

One day I will sit down and try to calculate the figure of what my Vel Satis costs me each year, in relation to the 6,000 miles I do annually Smile
