Our Friends

At vel-satis.org we like to build positive relationships obviously with other Renault Vel Satis owners, but also with others in the motoring industry. So a big thanks to anyone listed on this page who has helped us out in some way!

Renault Forums

RenaultForums is one of the UK’s biggest Renault communities. If you are looking for problem solving for your Laguna, Clio, Megane, Scenic, Espace, Twingo or other Renault, then this is the place for you.

MajorGav & PetrolBlog

In MajorGav’s own words, PetrolBlog is automotive waffle and bunk and is best served with a mugful of tea and couple of Hobnobs. It’s a nostalgic look back at some classic (and not so classic) cars with a sprinkling of interesting new cars mixed in for good measure. MajorGav’s PetrolBlog contains new car reviews, real world reviews (including one from us on the Renault Vel Satis), a nostalgic look back at some cars that used to be common place on Britain’s roads, special edition cars, 1970s and 1980s cars, a collection of the automotive horror that is the booted hatchback (or as PetrolBlog likes to call them – the Shatchback), Car Confessional, PetrolBlog and MajorGav’s observations on the motoring world and other random car and motoring related stuff. Go on, check PetrolBlog out – we think you’ll love it as much as we do!

John Slavin, motoring journalist

In his own words, John Slavin is a part time freelance motoring journalist. He likes to keep abreast of what’s happening in the motoring industry, and so he spends a lot of time online, whether interacting with the motoring community on Twitter (@John_Slavin) or skimming press releases. John writes the VM News for Bodyshop Magazine, along with a monthly roadtest. There are various other publications he works for on and off too, including Fleet News and Auto-Retail Network. John placed third in the Trade Media Rising Star category in the recent Headlineauto awards. His own website can be found at http://johnslavin.wordpress.com and is well worth a visit for his excellent reviews and other words – and we would also like to recommend the online motoring magazine Racing and Waiting. John is their News and Features Editor, working alongside Editor Tim Hutton (@TheTimHutton). The Racing and Waiting online magazine website is at www.racingandwaiting.co.uk – go check it out!
